Arc-Tech Welcomes Scottish Property Award Nominations For Two Projects

Arc-Tech has welcomed the nomination of two projects they helped deliver for prestigious Scottish Property Awards.

The awards is an annual competition that honours the best new buildings in commercial property and real estate from around the country. Projects will compete across 17 categories at a star-spangled awards ceremony on the 24th of February 2024, one of which is the four-times nominated Paisley Learning and Cultural Hub.

The Paisley Learning and Cultural Hub is the new home for Paisley Central Library and has been designed as a modern digitally-connected place of learning for all. Designed by Collective Architecture. It is the latest venue to open as part of a wider push by Renfrewshire Council and hub West Scotland to use culture and heritage to drive the town's regeneration and give people new reasons to visit the town centre.

The project has been nominated for Development of the Year (Public Buildings), Architectural Excellence (Public Use), Regeneration Project of the Year and ESG Refurbishment of the Year.

Arc-Tech (Scotland) supported the project's delivery with the installation of a turnkey, M&E Services package on behalf of Main Contractor CCG (Scotland) including all lighting, security, fire and data systems as well as ventilation & air conditioning, an electric heating system, and domestic water services, amongst others. The project was formally handed over in the winter of 2023 after a 2.5-year programme.

Dalgety Bay Care Home in southeast Fife is a luxury care home that provides residential, nursing and dementia care to elderly people over 65. Designed by Holmes Miller, it is the first development completed since the launch of an innovative joint venture company between CCG and Morrison Community Care. The company utilises an innovative blend of expertise to identify, deliver and develop care homes in key geographical regions across the central belt to create more, modern accommodation and help address Scotland's fast-growing ageing population.

Alongside private en-suite bedrooms, the home features a range of integrated amenities such as a hair salon, a champagne bar, private dining, a cinema, private gardens and a putting green. It also incorporates innovative infection control measures to mitigate the impact of any future pandemics. The project is a finalist in the Health Care Development of the Year category.

The services included Mechanical Sprinklers, Ventilation, Air conditioning, BEMS, CHP, Natural gas, Domestic water services, Drainage, Electrical, Fire & Security, Data, Lighting/Emergency lighting, LV Switchgear & distribution, Nurse call, Lightning & surge protection.
