Perth and Kinross Council has called on all local communities to have their say on the development of the third Local Development Plan (LDP3).
The LDP3will be considered at the next meeting of the Environment, Infrastructure and Economic Development Committee on 1 November 2023.
LDP3 has already been the subject of significant early consultation and engagement with over 100 'Big Place Conversation' events held by the Council around the Perth and Kinross area between January and August 2023. The aim was to reach out to as many people as possible for their views on a range of key land use and community development topics to gather evidence that will directly inform the finalised LDP.
Following the issuing of new regulations and guidance from the Scottish Government in Spring 2023, the Committee will hear that timescales for the submission of key documents as part of LDP3 have been adjusted. Further consultation and engagement with interested organisations, groups and the wider public will follow during the next phase of development.
Councillor Andrew Parrott, Convener of Environment, Infrastructure and Economic Development said: "A very significant level of community engagement has taken place since the beginning of 2023 to gather our residents' views on the future development of Perth and Kinross. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to that process, and would encourage communities to keep an eye out for any future consultation activities we bring forward in due course."
Councillors will be asked to agree the proposed Development Plan Scheme which will then go to the Scottish Ministers for consideration.
