West Dunbartonshire Council has appointed CCG(Scotland) for a new housing development on the site of a former Clydebank care home.

The supported living development will provide 19 homes, comprising of cottage and tenement flats and terraced bungalows.

The Council's tendering committee agreed last week to award the design and build work at Mount Pleasant, Old Kilpatrick to CCG (Scotland) Ltd.


As part of social benefits aspect included in all West Dunbartonshire Council contracts, the firm have committed to paying all staff the real living wage, and will use local companies for any sub-contracting opportunities. In addition, they will recruit at least two employees from the West Dunbartonshire area.

The contract is expected to commence in 2024.

Councillor June McKay, who was chairing the meeting, said: "I am delighted that our contracts require firms to think about ways they can work to benefit our communities while they work with us. This is another way in which the council has shown its commitment to making the lives of our residents better.

"Now that a contractor has been appointed for the design and build, this project will move towards planning proposals."
