Richard Lochhead MSP has been welcomed by Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes to its Findrassie development in celebration of two site managers' Pride in the Job Quality Award wins.
Barry Fraser, Site Manager at Barratt Homes Findrassie and Martin Rait, Site Manager at David Wilson Homes Findrassie in Elgin, received the Pride in the Job Quality Award, known as the 'Oscars of the housebuilding industry', from the National House Building Council (NHBC), setting them apart as two of the very best in the country.
This year, a total of 19 site managers from Barratt and David Wilson Homes received a Pride in the Job award for the quality of the homes they are building – the most ever received by the housebuilder in Scotland.
Richard Lochhead, who was visiting in his capacity as MSP for Moray, met winners Barry and Martin as well as David Palmer, managing director of Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland, and construction director Kevin Urquhart. Richard, who is also Minister for Small Business, Innovation, Tourism and Trade, was given a tour of the site and was introduced to other Barratt and David Wilson Homes employees from both the sales and construction team.
David Palmer, managing director of Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland, said: "We were thrilled to welcome Richard Lochhead MSP to Findrassie and to demonstrate the quality which we are building across all tenures in his constituency.
"The Pride in the Job awards acknowledge the work we’re doing to showcase our commitment in building the highest standard of homes in Elgin and across Scotland, with our elite site managers Martin and Barry being among those demonstrating our award-winning customer care."
Richard Lochhead MSP added: "It was great to visit the new Findrassie development and to meet the award-winning team behind it – the whole team can be very proud of their work on this project.
"There continues to be high demand for new housing in and around Elgin and developments like Findrassie are important for the area if we’re to attract people – including key workers – to live and work in Moray.
"Of course there's also social housing included in the development, which is sorely needed and will help many of my constituents currently on the waiting list."
