Barratt Developments Welcomes MSP To Motherwell Site

Barratt Developments has welcomed MSP, Stephanie Callaghan, to Torrance Park, Motherwell in celebration of its site managers' Pride in the Job Quality Award wins.

Andrew Buchanan and Robert Hamilton, both site managers at Torrance Park, received the Pride in the Job Quality Award, known as the "Oscars of the housebuilding industry", from the National House Building Council (NHBC) - setting them apart as two of the very best in the country.

This year, a total of 19 site managers from Barratt Developments Scotland, which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, won a top national award for the quality of the homes they are building – the most ever received by the housebuilder in Scotland.

Stephanie Callaghan, MSP for Uddingston and Bellshill, visited the Torrance Park development to meet Andrew and Robert along with David Scott, managing director for Barratt Developments West Scotland, construction director Craig McFarlane and contracts manager David Morton.

David Scott, managing director of Barratt Developments West Scotland, said: "We were thrilled to welcome Stephanie Callaghan MSP to Torrance Park and to demonstrate the quality which we are building across all tenures in her constituency.

"The Pride in the Job awards acknowledge the work we're doing to showcase our commitment in building the highest standard of homes in Motherwell and across Scotland, with our elite site managers demonstrating our award-winning customer care."

Stephanie Callaghan, MSP for Uddingston and Bellshill, said: "I was delighted to visit the Barratt Homes housing development at Torrance Park in Holytown, to congratulate Pride in the Job award winning site managers Robert and Andrew.

"It was clear to see the link between high local demand for these wonderful homes, and the sense of pride every worker takes in doing a great job at every stage of the build. I heard how Barratt pride themselves on growing a talented local workforce and promoting from within, creating workers who are naturally invested in their communities and delivering fantastic homes for people to enjoy."

Torrance Park, situated in the semi-rural Holytown in Motherwell, is designed to suit first time buyers, home movers and growing families looking for good connections to Glasgow, Livingston and Edinburgh.

In addition to the recent Pride in the Job award wins, Barratt Developments has also been awarded 5 stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated 5 star means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt being the only major national housebuilder to be rated 5 star for 14 years in a row.
