Morrison Construction have welcomed Minister for Children, Young People and Keeping the Promise, Natalie Don MSP, to a turf-cutting ceremony to mark the launch of a new primary school development in East Calder.
The £18.3m school is funded through the Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP), as part of a scheme which aims to invest in education facilities across the region. Plans for this new primary school include the construction of a new state-of-the-art, triangular shaped school building, which aims to deliver optimum energy performance, as well as educational connectivity throughout the new learning spaces for the future students.
Allan Cunningham, Operations Director for Morrison Construction Building Central, commented: "We are delighted to be getting underway with what is set to be another exciting schools project with our partners at West Lothian Council and Hub South East. As a team, we have a strong track record in delivering high-quality educational facilities for the students of the region and we all believe that this new school at East Calder will only add to that."
