A new £15 million mixed-use community, creative and heritage hub is to be developed at Edinburgh's Leith Custom House, following the approval of a Scottish Historic Buildings Trust (SHBT) proposal.
The City of Edinburgh Council has approved major development, which will see the historic building restored and improved, with a key focus on energy efficiency.
The building – which the council bought in 2015 for £650,000 from the city's Common Good Fund – will be leased to SHBT until 2025, which will allow the Trust to raise funds for a new 99-year lease.
