North Ayrshire Council has announced that work to develop six new amenity homes in Stevenston is set to get under way in the coming weeks.
Connect Modular have been appointed as the contractor for the Afton Court development and the Council is holding an event to allow local people and interested parties to view the final plans for the site and to 'Meet the Builder' ahead of work starting.
Councillor Scott Davidson, Cabinet Member for Place at North Ayrshire Council, said: "We are excited to see the development of these new homes which are built in a cutting-edge and environmentally-conscious manner.
"The new properties are a great example of the innovative thinking which is allowing us to build homes across North Ayrshire to meet the needs of our tenants and to help regenerate town centres and communities.
"We have one of the most ambitious house-building programmes in the country and the new homes at Afton Court will contribute to our commitment to build modern, energy-efficient and affordable homes in every part of North Ayrshire."
The development will comprise six amenity bungalows - with a mix of 1 and 2 bedrooms - on the site of the former Afton Court Sheltered Housing Unit.
The £1.3million redevelopment will be supported by funding from the Scottish Government.
Work is scheduled to get under way this winter with completion currently scheduled for spring/summer 2023.
