CCG Named 'Affordable Housing Provider of the Year'

CCG (Scotland) has been named 'Affordable Housing Provider of the Year' at the Homes for Scotland Awards 2022.

The announcement of this prestigious accolade was made at the Homes for Scotland Annual Lunch & Awards which took place on Friday 20th of May at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in front of 1000 dignitaries from across the Scottish Housing sector.

A major coup for the CCG Group, the award commemorates a contractor/developer's contribution to affordable housing delivery in Scotland, focusing on quality, quantity, sustainability, and the broader reach of house building within communities in the creation of social value.

CCG's reach within the sector covers the breadth of central Scotland with 30 live contracts contributing up to 1800 units across nine Local Authority regions with the majority being created using advanced 'offsite' Modern Methods of Construction.

The Group also has a pipeline of over 1000 homes that will be created to a 'net zero' or Passivhaus standard of build, supporting Scotland's transition to becoming a net zero economy by 2045 and tackling the fuel poverty agenda.

With a pipeline of delivery beyond 2024, CCG can continue to support Scotland's communities by creating access to jobs, apprenticeships, and training, as well as being able to sustain localised investment. In 2021 alone, CCG contributed over £170,000 to community-based projects or initiatives and in 2022, we will welcome 19 trade apprentices to the Group whilst providing a range of new jobs and training opportunities.

CCG was one of three Homebuilder of the Year winners. Chair of the independent judging panel David Knight, former Managing Director at Avant Homes, said: "As Chair of this year's refreshed judging panel, I was delighted to see such strong submissions from HFS members, particularly given the challenges of the past couple of years.

"These entries showcased organisations which are not only rising to the challenge of delivering more of the much-needed homes we require across the length and breadth of the country but are doing so in a way which goes above and beyond – that could be in terms of their use of innovative technologies or building techniques, creation of a sense of place and community or notable sustainability features – and all with the customer to the fore.

"The panel therefore congratulates all who entered and those taking home the top awards."

CCG Managing Director, David Wylie, said: "To be recognised as 'Affordable Housing Provider of the Year' by Homes for Scotland is a wonderful achievement for our business. With over 85% of our Group's annual turnover coming from new build, affordable housing, our commitment to the sector is clear but it would not be possible without the strong relationships we have nurtured with our Council and RSL partners. In that respect, we extend our thanks to them and our valuable supply chain partners for their ongoing support.

"Of course, we are also very proud of how our reach extends beyond the creation of new homes. Investing in our communities and creating employment and training opportunities are engrained in our DNA; we understand the importance of going beyond bricks and mortar and we will continue to do everything we can to deliver modern, energy-efficient homes as well as providing valuable help for communities across the country.

"Finally, we extend our thanks to Homes for Scotland and support their agenda to ensure the housing needs and aspirations of all those living in Scotland are met."
