Transport Scotland have announced a programme of resurfacing works worth £230,000 for a section of the southbound M9 at Junction 3, to be carried out by operating company BEAR Scotland.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland's South East Network Manager, said: "These surfacing improvements will improve safety for motorists on this section of the M9.
"It is essential that we close the carriageway during the works, however we've planned them to take place overnight to minimise disruption."
For the safety of workers and road users during these works, the M9 southbound will be closed from Junction 5 Cadgers Brae to Junction 1A Kirkliston from 19:30 until 06:00 on the nights of Monday 11, Tuesday 12, Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 April.
A diversion route for southbound traffic will be signposted from M9 Junction 5 to Junction 1A, via the A905, A904, A993, A904 and M90, adding an estimated 16 minutes and 4.6 miles to affected journeys. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
