£255,000 Resurfacing Improvement Works Investment

Transport Scotland have announced a £255,000 investment in resurfacing improvement works on the M9, work that will be carried out by BEAR Scotland.

For the safety of workers and road users, the southbound carriageway of the M9 between Junctions 11 and 10 will be closed from 19:30 until 06:00 on the nights of Wednesday 6, Thursday 7, and Friday 8 April.

During these closures, a diversion route for southbound traffic will be signposted from M9 Junction 11 Keir Roundabout to M9 Junction 9 Pirnhall via the A9 and A91, adding an estimated 9 minutes and 1.7 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultations have taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland's South East Network Manager, said: "These surfacing improvements will significantly improve safety and ride quality for motorists using this section of the M9.

"Carriageway closures are essential to ensure the safety of workers and road users, however we've planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption and will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible.

"We thank motorists in advance for their patience and encourage them to plan ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information."
