BEAR Scotland Announces £100,000 A90 Clepington Works

Construction News Image
BEAR Scotland has announced a £100,000 road surface improvement scheme for the A90 Clepington, Dundee, set to get underway on Wednesday 16 March.

The improvements will address defects in the road surface on the southbound off-slip leading to Kingsway Retail Park and Clepington Roundabout, creating a safer and smoother road surface for motorists.

The project is scheduled to begin on Wednesday 16 March at 7.30pm, with works programmed to take place over three nights. Works will take place between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night. All works are expected to be completed by Saturday 19 March at 6.30am.

To ensure all roadworkers as well as motorists are kept safe throughout the project, the Clepington southbound off-slip will be closed throughout working hours and diversions will be in place. Off-slip traffic coming from A90 southbound will be diverted to Coupar Angus Roundabout and back up the A90 to Clepington Roundabout. Those wishing to enter Kingsway Retail Park should do so via the B960 entrance. Traffic wishing to exit Kingsway Retail Park should do so via the B960 exit. The off-slip will be fully opened outwith working hours.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the surfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland's North East Unit Representative, said: "This £100,000 investment from Transport Scotland will greatly improve and strengthen this section of the A90, as well as create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

"We've taken steps to minimise disruption for motorists as much as possible during the improvements, including carrying out the works overnight and removing the off-slip closure during the daytime.

"We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential improvements on the A90. We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination."
