A CCG project on Alexandria on behalf of West Dunbartonshire Council has been nominated as a finalist at this year's CIH Housing Awards 2021.
The 22-home Creveul Court development has been shortlisted for the CIH Award for Excellence in Development for Affordable Housing commemorating its focus on "regenerating, creating a community and designing for Dementia".
West Dunbartonshire Council, CCG's principal client for the project and strategic housing partner, sought to utilise the project as an exemplar for what is now known as the WDC Dementia Guide, a standard of build/ framework that supports residents later in life. By integrating cognitive design features within the development, future residents who may be inflicted with dementia later in life are provided with a home that can support them for a longer period of time.
The design was aided by project architect Anderson Bell Christie and includes the use of vibrant and identifiable colour schemes and bespoke signage with the development in its entirety designed to Housing for Varying Needs standards.
