amey-binnies Appointed For Waste Water Infrastructure Works

Construction News Image
amey-binnies has been appointed to carry out essential upgrades to the waste water infrastructure in Dunblane, Perthshire, as part of a major £3 million investment by Scottish Water.

The works, which are now underway, will replace and upgrade the existing sewer network to increase capacity and help reduce the risk of internal and external sewer flooding.

Works will take place along Claredon Place, Springfield Terrace, George Street and through the field behind Hillside Avenue.

Georgina Reid, Scottish Water's corporate affairs manager for the west, said: "We take sewer flooding very seriously as we recognise the distress and disruption it can cause to communities across Scotland.

"We are pleased that a solution to the historic flooding issue is now underway. We appreciate these works may cause some disruption in the local community and we'd like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding while this vital work is being carried out."

The project will be delivered in phases, and work has already started at the Air Cadet/Bowling Club to create a crossover point on the B8033 Stirling Road which will take around six weeks.

On Monday, 27 September, work will move on to the B8033 Stirling Road roundabout and road users are being asked to follow the signed diversion which will be in place for approximately six weeks. Further traffic management will be in place as the project progresses.

Traffic management has been agreed in liaison with Stirling Council and all efforts will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.
