Dundee City Council is to consider a proposal to install a new energy efficient heating system at a city nursery school.

The works would see an Air Source Heat Pump Unit system fitted at Craigiebarns Nursery School if councillors approve the almost £115,000 plans.

Councillor Mark Flynn, City Development Convener, said: "It's important that we continue to invest in the city's many buildings and properties to make them energy efficient and cost effective to run.

"This latest investment is in keeping with the council's approach to lowering emissions within the city and contributing to the strategy outlined in the council's Climate Action Plan."

Councillors are being asked to approve a bid by local contractors Scan Building Services Ltd, which if successful would see the works carried out in October this year. The total cost is expected to be £114,788.

The City Development Committee meets on Monday (September 6).
