I & H Brown have deployed a fully electric excavator to the site of their Ponfeigh Bridge project, as part of their commitment to reducing carbon commissions.

At Ponfeigh Bridge I & H Brown have been working to install a new bridge over the Calder Water on behalf of our client South Lanarkshire Council.

The electric excavator has the capability to work all day long on one charge and can then be recharged overnight ready for the next day. Not only has the electric excavator proven itself in its on-site capabilities whilst being zero emissions but it has a number of lesser known operational and environmental advantages, including:

• No engine and associated items significantly reduce servicing time and breakdowns, maximising efficiency

• No engine liquids means low environmental risk

• A significant 10dB reduction in noise compared to the equivalent diesel version.
