A programme of preparation works are set to begin ahead of the construction of the new Galashiels Community Campus.

Scottish Borders Council has scheduled for a number of hand trial digs to be undertaken around the existing swimming pool and associated car park as well as localised areas within Scott Park today, Tuesday 13 July.

This is the first of a number of surveys being undertaken throughout the summer, which will include a drainage survey of the existing culvert to the rear of the site and a root survey of key protected trees.

The findings of all surveys will help inform the final design and ensure the long term protection and preservation of the area.

A community consultation on plans for a new Community Campus in Galashiels is available to view.

The online consultation provides the opportunity for the wider community to view detailed plans for the Campus and provide their views on the outlined plans.
