CCG Offsite Manufacturing (OSM), a subsidiary of the CCG (Scotland) Group, has appointed a new Director.
David Crawford joined the group in 2014 as a Systems Analyst following a four-year term as an Associate Consultant with Edinburgh Napier University.
Responsible for the research and analysis of productivity across CCG's manufacturing divisions, which includes the creation of timber systems and windows and doors, David then joined OSM full-time in 2016.
CCG OSM is one of the most advanced 'offsite manufacturing' facilities in the UK comprising an innovative, semi-automated production line that spans the size of two football pitches to create a closed panel timber frame solution, known as the iQ Timber System, incorporating components such as wall linings, insulation, service containment, windows and doors to support the creation of energy-efficient housing, care homes, nurseries and schools.
David's role since joining the business has been to manage day-to-day business operations of the production and site-related processes; overseeing product development of the iQ Timber System and the improvement of efficiencies on the factory floor and kit erect activities.
David said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the CCG Group since joining in 2014 and I am very grateful for the support shown by OSM Managing Director, Steven Earlie, in appointing me to this new role. We have achieved a lot during my time with the company: our productivity has increased on average 19% year-on-year whilst our iQ Timber System’s thermal performance has been improved by as much as 37%. This would not have been achieved without investment into new machinery and software as well as the commitment of our staff as we strive to deliver a first-class service to our parent company, CCG, and our external clients."
