A new £11 million acute mental health facility has officially opened at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow.
Arc-Tech (Scotland) had been on-site since the summer of 2019, working to support Main Contractor BAM Construction in partnership with hub West Scotland for NHSGCC, with the creation of new health wards dedicated to adult in-patient care and functional health issues for one of Glasgow’s busiest hospitals.
Arc-Tech provided a full turnkey Mechanical and Electrical Service package for the build, utilising digital engineering practices to enable the installation of plumbing, heating and ventilation as well as lighting, fire, security, data and power systems.
An innovative prefabricated solution to create corridor and plant room service modules was also implemented by Arc-Tech.
John Gallacher, Arc-Tech Managing Director said: "Working alongside BAM Construction has been a great experience for the Arc-Tech team. In supporting one of the nation’s largest construction companies, we have combined our practices to deliver industry-leading quality standards thanks to the use of digital integration and prefabrication. We give thanks to BAM and our developer partner hub West Scotland and we look forward to working together again in the near future."
Jim Ward, BAM Construction Director said: "Appointing Arc-Tech for their first project with BAM as our MEP contractor on SHMHU has been an excellent experience. Arc-Tech brought a high level of professionalism and innovation to deliver a quality MEP installation. In addition, Arc-Tech went the extra mile in terms of commitment to social value for the local community. On the back of the successful delivery of SHMHU. BAM have appointed Arc-Tech on our Clydebank Health Centre Project, where we look forward to continuing our professional relationship."
