Tayside Contracts has started work on a road resurfacing scheme in Arbroath's Lochlands Street (B964).
The road will be closed for approximately one week while work is being carried out and diversions will be put in place.
The diversion route for Lochlands Street will be Cairnie Street – Lochlands Drive and Elliot Street. Spink Street junction will be closed during the works and traffic will be diverted via Keptie Street.
In a statement Angus Council said: "We request that residents do not park on the carriageway - including the parking bays - between Elliot Street and the pedestrian crossing, during this programme of work. Appropriate signage and barriers will be in place locally and pedestrian access will be maintained.
"There will be some impact on public transport. Notices of alternative arrangements will be posted at bus stops.
"Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while this necessary work is carried out."
