Extensive Programme Of Road Improvement Works

An extensive programme of road improvement works across the region have been announced by Stirling Council.

The Local Authority has accelerated a number of projects from next year to target key locations across the road network.

Stirling Council roads maintenance teams are fully engaged in these works and have enlisted support from Falkirk Council to increase capacity to deliver these projects this year.

Partnership working

As part of this partnership, Falkirk Council will be undertaking the following schemes on behalf of Stirling Council during February and March:

• Forthside Way, Stirling – Defect Repairs

• Ladysneuk Road, Cambuskenneth – Defect Repairs

• A9 Plean to Greencornhills – Defect Patching

• Berryhill, Cowie – Resurfacing

Convener for Environment and Housing, Councillor Jim Thomson, said: "This programme of resurfacing and patching works across Stirling will bring lasting benefits to both rural and urban communities ahead of the busy summer tourist season.

"Careful planning has gone into the programme to ensure disruption to businesses and road users is kept to a minimum and we're delighted to have Falkirk Council's help in delivering these works."

Vice Convener, Cllr Danny Gibson, added: "This is a major project to repair some of our key roads before the summer months.

"Our roads network is our biggest asset as a Council and we're grateful to be able to call on the support of our partners in Falkirk to help deliver this investment for the people of Stirling."

A number of other schemes will be undertaken that are less disruptive and anyone effected by these will be notified at least a week prior to works commencing.

Location plans for the larger rural schemes are displayed in the gallery below indicating the exact location of the resurfacing works.
