Highland Council has unveiled a plan map of Inverness' Victorian Market ahead of a refurbishment at the 'Market Hall' and 'Fish Hall'.

David Haas, Inverness City Manager said: "All businesses in the 'Market Arcade' and 'Queensgate' are not part of the transformation project and will remain open during the refurbishment. It's business as usual for Market Arcade and Queensgate traders.

"We are issuing a plan map of the Victorian Market to reinforce that the transformation project is only within the Market Hall and Fish Hall (within the red area outlined on the map). This is the area on the Church Street side of the Market."

The Council has written to businesses in the Market Hall and Fish Hall inviting them to a private drop-in session being organised on Tuesday 10 December at the Town House.

At the drop-in session, lease holders will be provided with confidential details on compensation arrangements offered; and information on how to apply for a new unit in Market Hall, with an anticipated timeline of the project.

The businesses affected will also be offered business and planning advice from Business Gateway; property advice from Graham & Sibbald; and information on general availability of city centre property and to answer tenancy questions from the Council's Property and Estates team.
