Plans have been approved to demolish a building in the Glenrothes area.

The Glenwood Centre property is being removed as part of a major redevelopment of the area. Residents of the building have been assured new homes will be found for them.

The decision was granted approval from members of the Glenrothes Area Committee.

Committee Convener Cllr Fiona Grant said: "I'm delighted with the decisions taken today. This is fantastic news for the whole area and particularly for the residents. They now have a clear idea of what the plans mean for them and reassurance that their housing needs are being given top priority. The wider community can also look forward to seeing things start to happen on the site and the plans for the regeneration of the area become a reality."
