The Scottish Government's Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme has been rolled out in the Helensburgh and Lomond areas of Argyll and Bute.
A total of 6,181 premises have been connected to the new hybrid fibre broadband network over the last six years, with the majority accessing Superfast Broadband with speeds greater than 30Mbps.
Approximately 34 new cabinets have been installed in eight exchange areas – Arden, Arrochar, Cardross, Clynder, Garelochhead, Helensburgh, Kilcreggan and Rhu. Additional work is also ongoing in Portincaple, Luss and Cove.
The next stage in the Scottish Government's drive to give every home and business in Scotland access to Superfast Broadband is the Reaching 100% (R100) project, which will shortly take over from the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme.
