Programme Of Minor Works Ahead Of Women's Tour of Scotland

Perth & Kinross Council have announced a programme of minor works ahead of the first ever Women's Tour of Scotland.

The three-day, three-stage race will see the cream of women's cycling talent from Scotland and Great Britain competing, as well as some of the top global cycling teams. The event is of particular interest locally as the second stage will conclude in Perth city centre on Tay Street at 3.00pm on Saturday 10 August.


To help ensure this event runs smoothly, the Council will be carrying out some minor works in Tay Street starting on Tuesday 23 July 2019, which are scheduled to last for two days.

During the works, Tay Street will be closed to through traffic between Perth Bridge and the High Street. The following diversions will be in place:

• Northbound traffic will be diverted via High Street and George Street.

• Southbound traffic will be diverted via Perth Bridge, Gowrie Street and Queens Bridge. The weight limit on Perth Bridge and right-turn ban onto Gowrie Street will be rescinded for the duration of the works to allow all traffic to use this diversion.

Pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained at all times for residents, businesses and emergency services.
