Construction Scotland Innovation Centre (CSIC) have announed that the ETP Energy Industry Doctorate Programme is now open for the academic year 2019/20.
ETP will award grants of up to £30k towards PhD projects that support the Scottish Government's Energy Strategy. Project proposals are being sought from ETP member universities for projects that are supported by industry.
Participation in the programme will provide companies with a cost-effective means of supporting high quality, applied research and development that is directly relevant to your company's development challenges.
Past and current industry sponsors of the ETP Energy Industry Doctorate Programme include companies that specialise in engineering, manufacturing, construction, chemicals and energy.
Speaking about the scheme, Dr Sotirios A. Kyriakis - PhD Graduate, University of Glasgow, whose study is 'Renewable Heat Networks: Modelling for robust design', said: "As my project approaches its completion, I am pleased to say that it was a great experience for me as I had the chance to work with great academics and industrial partners."
And industrial sponsor of the study, Dr Michael Feliks, UK Operations Manager, Cluff Geothermal, added: "Our knowledge through this project has already increased tremendously thanks to the collaboration with the student and supervisors. We hope that this was just the beginning of a successful collaboration between our company and academia. All this began thanks to ETP's help."
The applications deadline is 12 noon 30 August 2019.
