A series of upgrades have begun at Dundee's Camperdown Country Park today, 13 May.

The £300,000 works will see the replacement of the old style parking bays with block paving and the construction of 58 additional parking spaces.

The grass will also be reinforced to allow for 68 spaces on the overspill area.

Neighbourhood Services Convener Councillor Kevin Cordell said: "The additional spaces are a welcome addition to facilities at Camperdown.

"Across the city our attractions are seeing increased visitor numbers and Camperdown Park is certainly no exception to that, with the new and improved play zone, Camperdown Wildlife Centre and of course the Flower and Food Festival, the park is continuing to bring in the crowds.


"This latest round of work in the park highlights our commitment to supporting and enhancing the key areas of the city.

"The park's role as a local attraction, is of course, vitally important and it's key that we continue to enhance the facilities to meet increased visitor numbers to the city."

Work will be carried out in two phases and will be completed by early August.
