Fife Council Shortlisted For Prestigious UK Planning Award

Fife Council has been shortlisted for a prize at the prestigious Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Awards for Planning Excellence.

The awards celebrate exceptional examples of planning and the contribution planners make to society.

The council's planners are being recognised for their 'Anstruther, Cellardyke & Kilrenny: Archaeological Burgh Survey', which will compete against eight other finalists in the planning heritage category.

This announcement follows success at the Scottish Awards for Quality in Planning 2018, where the survey claimed a top prize.

Convener of the Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning & Transportation Committee Cllr Altany Craik said: "Dedication and professionalism are hallmarks of Fife Council's Planning Service but it's outstanding to have this excellence recognised at a UK level.

"Quality and performance matter in the delivery of public services. This shortlisting, along with the Development Plan Team’s other recent heritage awards is testament to the really excellent work being done by the Council's Development Plan Team."

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony in London on 24 April 2019.
