Interserve and project partner Babcock & Wilcox have announced that they have handed over the Dunbar renewable energy plant project to Viridor Enviroscot Ltd.
The Dunbar Energy Recovery Facility, a municipal waste-to-energy plant in East Lothian, can process up to 38 tons of municipal waste per hour, delivering power to thousands of homes and businesses. It will contribute towards the Scottish Government's target of sending zero biodegradable municipal waste to landfill by 2021.
Dougie Sutherland, Executive Director at Interserve, said: "We are pleased to have completed the Dunbar project and handed it over to our customer Viridor Enviroscot Ltd. This is an important milestone in the transformation of Interserve."
