Road Repairs In Stromness

Orkney Islands Council has announced that roads in central Stromness will be closed for a short period this week to enable Orkney Islands Council to complete flagstone repairs.

Work due to be completed last week was delayed whilst work crews were diverted to gritting duties in the county.

Work is now scheduled to take place from Church Road to Graham Place and on Alfred Street from Wednesday 30 January to Friday 01 February.

The sections will be closed, as required, between 09:00 to 12:00 and then again from 13:00 to 15:30 while repairs are carried out. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the works.

Repaired areas will be covered by temporary plates to allow the repairs to bed in.
