Funding For New Dornoch Development Officer Approved

Dornoch Area Community Interest Company's (DACIC) proposal to create a Community Development Manager Post has been approved by the Sutherland County Committee.

DACIC was set up in 2007 as a voluntary organisation to enhance and develop the economy and community of the Sutherland town.

In a report presented to Sutherland Councillors, DACIC outlined their plans and applied to the Dornoch Common Good Fund for £20,000 to be paid over two years. They will also contribute £3,873 from their own funds to support the new post.

After members unanimously agreed to contribute £20,000 from the Common Good Fund, Chair of the Committee, Richard Gale said: "I'm happy to support this application for funding to go towards this new post. DACIC has a strong history of delivering projects in the town and I believe the money from the Common Good Fund over the next two years will be well spent."
