A £860,000 resurfacing project is to begin on the A82 route between Fort William and Inverness this Sunday, 30 September.
The work will take place at four locations between Invergarry and Invermoriston and will involve surfacing upgrades and drainage improvements.
Work will be completed in five weeks with some overnight road closures in place while the project is being carried out.
The Highland Council's Chair of Environment, Development and Infrastructure, Cllr Allan Henderson, said: "I welcome this spend, the continuing improvements and the investment in the A82 which I, on a far too regular basis, travel from my home in Fort William.
"On behalf of the local communities and road users I have been lobbying for the planned works to be done overnight in order to keep disruption to a minimum. I really appreciate BEAR Scotland listening and changing this work from a daytime closure, which would have meant drivers having a long roundabout detour. Having the work carried out at night-time will certain disrupt far fewer people's travel plans."
