The Highland Council has adopted a new Local Development Plan for Caithness and Sutherland.
The Caithness and Sutherland Local Development Plan (CaSPlan) will replace the previous plans.
Effective immediately, it will be used to guide decisions on planning applications.
CaSPlan seeks to deliver key outcomes for growing communities, employment, connectivity and transport, plus environment and heritage. It also provides greater certainty to local communities and the development industry on how development sites should be delivered in order to make good places for people to live and work.
The Plan has been prepared in consultation with a range of stakeholders and reflects the outcome of a comprehensive engagement process, including independent scrutiny at Examination.
The associated Action Programme will be finalised and delivered this Autumn.
The Council will publish the adopted version of CaSPlan soon.
