A contract has been awarded for A9 dualling ground investigations under the Tay Crossing to Ballinluig scheme.
The A9 Dualling scheme is one of Scotland's biggest ever transport infrastructure projects, which will upgrade the road into a dual carriageway.
Ground investigation work will help inform ongoing design work following the recently published draft Orders for the Tay Crossing to Ballinluig scheme.
The work is expected to begin next month, and will be completed in 10 weeks.
Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, Michael Matheson said: "As some of this work will take place on or near the live carriageway and in order to ensure the safety of both road workers and road users we will need to introduce traffic management arrangements when required."
He added: "The work to dual the A9 between Perth and Inverness is continuing at pace across the programme with design work ongoing and advance works underway on the Luncarty to Pass of Birnam scheme."
