ENGIE has hosted a successful 'Meet the Buyer' event in Bellshill, with 95 Scottish construction contractors and suppliers in attendance.
The event was aimed at extending the company's local supply chain. The invited organisations were involved in trades such as joinery, plumbing, brick work, electrical, roofing, flooring, windows and doors.
ENGIE's Places & Communities division works alongside local authorities, registered social landlords and other public bodies in the development and regeneration of sustainable, efficient and vibrant communities.
Using its construction and regeneration expertise in homes, hospitals, schools and municipal buildings, the company was able to offer a diverse portfolio of work and broaden skill sets for key suppliers.
Stevie Nugent, Business Development Director for ENGIE, said: "Everything we do as a business is aimed at improving lives and putting back into the local community. These events offer the perfect platform to meet local businesses and specialists, while sharing information about the kind of projects we are currently working on.
"The turnout in Bellshill was fantastic and this has resulted in an improved construction trade supplier list. We are now looking to hold a similar event for the professional services, where we will be seeking a broad number of consultants to support us as we continue to expand our presence in Scotland."
