Construction work is to take place on the A890 Stromeferry Bypass in the Highlands, starting on 03 September.
The work will be conducted on the rock face to the west of the avalanche shelter on the road, and will involve the installation of a road to rail bypass road. It is expected to be installed within two weeks.
A Council spokesman said: "We have worked closely with Network Rail to keep disruption to road users to a minimum when the road/rail diversion is in place but inevitably there will be times when road users will face longer waits so we urge people to plan their travel carefully and avoid the periods when the diversion is not going to be available."
Road closures and traffic management will be in place for up to 12 weeks.
