Aberdeen's Union Square Expansion Gets Green Light

Planning permission has been granted for a £200 million expansion of the Union Square shopping centre in Aberdeen.

The new space would include 30 new retailers and a 120-bed hotel. Aberdeen City Council planners have also confirmed that 294 car park spaces will be made available.

Leisure space, an expanded cinema, as well as reconfiguration of part of the centre's existing shopping area are also part of the proposal.

The expansion is planned to be built into the current surface car park and extended along Market Street.

The design is yet to yet be finalised.

More details on the scheme are expected to be revealed in further planning applications.
