Construction work has started on 10 new homes in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire.
The Fenwick Drive scheme is being delivered by CCG as part of the council's commitment to deliver 240 new homes for social rent over the next five years.
A total of four three-bedroom terrace houses and six one-bedroom cottage flats will be developed. Completion is scheduled for February 2019.
Elsewhere, 20 new homes are being built by CCG at Blackbyres Court, Barrhead. Work is scheduled to be complete in Autumn.
Council Leader Tony Buchanan said: "I am delighted with the positive response from the first phase of our Council house build project at Robertson Street. Improving the quality and range of housing suitable for East Renfrewshire resident's forms part of our Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) 2018/19 – 2022/23 and I am delighted that we can deliver affordable and adaptable homes and expand our local communities for more residents to enjoy."
Calum Murray, Director of CCG, added: "The Robertson Street project has gone very well so far thanks to the use of our 'iQ' timber frame system which ensures a faster speed of construction and, upon completion, strong environmental performance.
"This same system will be used at Fenwick Drive and we look forward to continuing our partnership with East Renfrewshire in the delivery of the housing as well as providing local job and training opportunities."
