Work To Start On M74 Motorway Resurfacing

Work is to begin on a road resurfacing project on the M74 motorway.

Scotland TranServ will start repairing 1km of the route at Junction 3 from Wednesday, 11 July.

Work will take place over a series of overnight closures, starting at 8pm on 11 July and finishing on Wednesday, 18 July.

Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ's Principal Roads Design Engineer said: "We're looking to minimise disruption for the thousands of commuters and freight drivers using this important route south. Working overnight will allow us to deliver this programme with the greatest efficiency. It will be necessary to implement OVERNIGHT diversions over the seven nights that this project is carried out.

"We have been working closely with local authorities and key stakeholders to schedule the works for the lowest possible impact. This has included working around a multitude of events being held in and around Glasgow throughout the summer."
