Plans have been submitted for a new 136-home development in Craigmillar, Edinburgh.
The proposals, submitted by CCG and Cooper Cromar Architects, involve developing the five-block schemet at the site of the former Lidl supermarket.
Features include active streetscapes with shared surfaces, with the scheme arranged around a central amenity space and landscaped ‘buffer zones’ of hedging and planting to provide a physical barrier between homes and public areas. Cyclist and pedestrian routes will also be provided alongside a play zone.
In 2016, CCG completed work on 'The Schoolhouse' mixed-use development, consisting of 66-mixed tenure homes on the site of the former Niddrie Mill Primary School.
A further 305 properties are set to be delivered as part if the Craigmillar Town Centre Masterplan and completion is due in 2020. A further 75 properties are also being built on Greendykes Road which is due for completion in 2019.
