A Scottish property company has won a national trade body’s contractor of the year title - for a record third year running.

Richardson & Starling retained the ‘Contractor of the Year, Damp and Timber’ title, sponsored by Safeguard Europe, at The Property Care Association’s Best Practice awards, held at The Slate, University of Warwick.

It was one of a series of titles for the company, with the team also coming away with the Innovation title, sponsored by Wykamol, and two highly commended accolades in the CITB sponsored Training and Staff Development award, as well as Sustainability.

A record number of entries were received for the awards, which were selected by an independent panel of three judges, Dr Hector Altamirano, a building scientist for UCL, Paul Cribbens, Standards Manager at NHBC and Ray Ferris, Head of Compliance and Standards for the Government-endorsed scheme for trades in and around the home, TrustMark.

Richardson and Starling’s managing director, Graham Duncan, said: "We are proud to win these prestigious awards and I would like to thank all our staff who work hard to deliver a quality service.

"To repeat our success is a fantastic achievement but to also become the first UK company to achieve contractor of the year for three years in a row is testament to our People, Process and Property Care Services."
