Work is to begin on a road resurfacing project in East Kilbride.
Scotland TranServ will start repairing a 200-metre section of the A726 westbound between the Birniehill and Murray Roundabouts from today. 18 June until Tuesday, 19 June. Work will take place between 8pm and 6am.
Brendan O’Sullivan, Scotland TranServ’s Network Area Manager said: "During the prolonged winter, with repetitive freeze/thaw cycles the trunk road became prone to defects. This project will help to address these defects and improve the quality of the road surface for the local commuters and businesses.
"Signed local diversions will be in place throughout the works, with special arrangements made for emergency service vehicles. The project has been scheduled for a time of low impact, however we would ask motorists to allow additional time for their journeys and to check trafficscotland.org or @trafficscotland prior to starting out."
