Work is to begin on a £228,000 road resurfacing project in Inverclyde.
Scotland TranServ will start repairing 640 metres of the A78 between Bankfoot and Inverkip from Monday, 25 June. Completion is scheduled for Monday, 02 July.
To carry out the scheme safely, works will be delivered under a series of overnight closures running for seven nights from 8pm each evening to 6am the following morning.
Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ's Principal Road Design Engineer, said: "We involved the local community and key stakeholders in the scheduling of this programme of works. The project was originally programmed alongside the £1Million of A78 investment we delivered during April. The community and elected members expressed concerns over the timing of the project then, and so we worked with them to schedule it for a more convenient time.
"We're looking to deliver the project ahead of the peak holiday period, reducing the impact on local commuters and the local economy. Works have also been scheduled for overnight, to keep disruption to an absolute minimum. And, we're working with local bus operators to ensure their timetable isn't affected."
