Work is to start on a £150,000 A76 road resurfacing project in Dumfries.
Scotland TranServ will start repairing 660-metres of the road at Holywood, north of Dumfries, from Monday, 25 June. Work will take place between 7pm – 6am each evening for five nights.
Lee Donnelly, Scotland TranServ's Assistant Engineer, said: "We've worked closely with the local community to ensure the works cause minimal impact to commuters, and on forthcoming events. This is the second project in a £1.5million resurfacing programme for the A76 through Dumfries and Galloway and into East Ayrshire.
"This £150,000 scheme will improve the quality of this trunk road, which connects many communities in and around Dumfries to Kilmarnock and Scotland's busy central belt. A number of other resurfacing projects will follow over the next few months as Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland invests to improve the surface of the A76."
