Work is continuing on millions of pounds worth of large scale projects across Argyll and Bute, according to a new report.

Councillors were updated this week on major projects being carried out in Campbeltown, Helensburgh, Rothesay, Inveraray, Tarbert and Dunoon.

The report presented to the council revealed progress is being made on schemes being delivered by the Transformation Projects and Regeneration Team, including progress of the Council's various Conservation Area Regeneration (CARS) and Townscape Heritage (TH) schemes, which involves a total investment of more than £10million.

In addition, an update was provided on six projects being carried out as part of the Tarbert and Lochgilphead Regeneration Fund, which is backed by £3m of local authority funding to support regeneration and economic development in Tarbert, Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig. The £3.5m regeneration of Helensburgh's Hermitage Park also features in the report, with work on the project expected to be completed this year. An outline of progress on the Culture, Heritage and Arts (CHArts) is also included.

Council Leader Aileen Morton said: "This report outlines the large scale projects that are underway in Argyll and Bute and shows that a lot of work is being done to support economic development. Funding from external bodies is vital to the success of these projects and I look forward to seeing further progress on them all."
