More Than £70,000 To Be Invested In Dundee Environmental Upgrades

Plans have been revealed to carry out a number of environmental upgrade projects in Dundee.

More than £70,000 worth of tenders are set to be awarded for schemes including the enhancement of Provost Road and Canning Street, as well as the continuation of the cemetery headstone stabilisation programme in the city.

Works at Provost Road and Canning Street are based on community consultation and will include redesign and landscape improvements, including tree planting. In addition, dated fencing will be removed to allow for greater access for maintenance, and improve visual aspects of the site and reduce future maintenance burden.

In addition, space will be created to make space for Eurobins, taking traditional bins off the street.

Cllr Kevin Cordell said: "These are important to making the city look and feel more attractive.

"I'm sure these works will enrich our local environment and ensure that everyone can enjoy it."

The Neighbourhood Services Committee will meet next week to discuss approving neighbourhood services as the tender.
