Prestongrange Museum Renovation Secures £23,400 Investment

More than £23,000 has been awarded by Museums Galleries Scotland towards the renovation of Prestongrange Museum in East Lothian.

The £23,400 investment will help towards costs for improving the appearance and condition of the museum's Visitor Centre.

Cllr Jim Goodfellow said: "East Lothian Council is one of only five recipients of a special round of capital funding provided by the Scottish Government and managed by Museums Galleries Scotland.

"The funding is for the strategic development of Scottish museums and will be used for an exciting project 'Reimagining Prestongrange Museum: Visitor Centre'. The project has grown out of work that has been ongoing since summer 2017 to develop a master plan for the future of the site and the museum.

"This project will improve the appearance and condition of the Prestongrange Museum Visitor Centre, creating better facilities and a warmer welcome for visitors."
