Work has started to deliver 40 new homes in Springburn, Glasgow.
The £5 million scheme is to be developed by AS Homes (Scotland) Ltd on behalf of Home Scotland, a division of Home Group.
The project at Springburn Way features two four-storey blocks to reflect the scale of the neighbouring tenement properties. Timber frame construction will be used to speed up build times as well as to create energy-efficient homes.
The development is scheduled for completion by autumn 2019.
Stuart Dixon, Head of Development and Delivery at Home Scotland, said: "We already have an excellent relationship with AS Homes so it's good to be working with them again.
"We look forward to providing a further 40 affordable homes in this area of Glasgow. The flats will put this vacant land to good use, helping to enhance Springburn."
Paul Kelly, Managing Director of AS Homes (Scotland) Ltd, added: "This development will provide high-quality, modern and affordable rented accommodation for the Springburn area, on what was previously a gap site."
