Midlothian Council has launched a public consultation on the proposed guidance for Special Landscape Areas.
The areas that are important for their natural, scenic and cultural qualities and are recognised locally as meriting special attention.
Midlothian Council has launched a public consultation on the proposed guidance, following a commitment made with the approval of the Midlothian Local Development Plan 2017.
The draft supplementary guidance includes 'statements of importance' for each of the seven Special Landscape Areas identified. These statements include information about why the area is being designated, a description of its landscape qualities and what needs to be considered if any development is proposed there.
How to have your say:
• Responses can be made online or in writing to Midlothian Council Planning Service, Fairfield House, 8 Lothian Road, Dalkeith, EH22 3AA
• Hard copies of the guidance will be available to view at Fairfield House reception and in all Midlothian libraries.
The consultation started on Tuesday 24 April and will run for six weeks until Wednesday 6 June 2018.
