New figures have revealed the average UK house price increased by more than 4% in February compared with last year.
The UK Government's latest UK House Price Index states average property prices rose to £225,047 in February (+4.4%), with prices falling by 0.1% when compared with the month before.
The North East of England experienced the greatest monthly price rise, up by 3.1%, while London saw the most significant monthly price fall, down by 2.1%.
At country level, the largest annual price growth was recorded in Scotland with house prices increasing by 6.2% over the year to February. In Wales, prices rose by 4.8% over the last 12 months and the average price in Northern Ireland increased by 4.3% over the year to Q4.
